The Lamy Devil

Usual character in Castilian traditional sayings and songs, especially love spells, is more naughty than an evil spirit.

It is lame because being one of the first celestial angels to rise in rebellion, was the first to fall into hell, landing the rest of the fallen angels on it.

In the novel written by Luis Velez de Guevara in the seventeenth century, the devil shows the duplicity of the Madrid noblemen to a student which releases him from captivity.
